NGOZI: Log Basket - Medium

Bring deep Ghanaian colour to your fireplace with the NGOZI log basket, in a handy medium size. With tribal-inspired bands, this tall woven basket is perfect for filling with firewood but also works as a beautiful laundry basket, toy basket, or a storage basket for bedding, towels, rugs and blankets. Every log basket in this new collection is totally unique – made once and sold once.

The NGOZI log basket is handwoven from tough veta vera grass – a local raw material that’s sustainably sourced. Basket weaving brings these female weavers the opportunity to earn a vital second income to support their farming work, childcare and domestic duties within the fair, supportive and ethical framework of the cooperative.

The cotton calico liners produced to fit our laundry baskets are manufactured by a social enterprise based in East London. These cotton liners are sewn by women facing multiple barriers to employment, being previously unemployed and with no prior work experience. These women have learnt exemplary sewing skills on free training programmes and now work to commission, costed at the London Living Wage.
