Matchboxes

(25)

Luxury matchboxes from Archivist, printed on a vintage windmill press and hand-packaged in the UK. Each design carries commissioned artwork — Daren Thomas Magee's serene One Tree Hill, Ariane Butto's toucan and sunflower, the graphic Chasing Big Cats, the botanical White Fern, and the whimsical Just So elephant and crocodile.

Several designs use extra-long matches intended for cigars, candles and fireplaces. They occupy a specific niche: an object placed beside a candle rather than hidden in a drawer, and one of the more reliable small gifts in the store.
